Brand, editorial and packaging illustration

Illustration can say things photos and stock images can't, and it gives a brand a look nobody else can copy. I create illustration for brands, publications, packaging and events, for clients around New Zealand, and I can work with you wherever you are.

Who it's for

Brands that want to stand out from a sea of stock imagery. Organisations explaining something complex or sensitive in a friendly way. Food and drink producers who need packaging with personality. Editors, and agencies that need a reliable illustrator who understands brand systems.

What's included

  • Brand illustration toolkits: a set of illustrations in a consistent style that your team can use across web, social and print.
  • Editorial illustration: supporting images for articles.
  • Packaging illustration: artwork, custom textures and print-ready files.
  • Event and campaign illustration: graphics that scale across multiple formats.
  • Books and educational resources: illustrated books and learning kits, like Pew-Pew and the Gun Safe.

How I work

I start with the story you want to tell and where the illustrations will be used. I explore style and colour first, so we agree on the look before I go into detail. Then I create the full set, with print-ready or digital files. You work with me from first sketch to final file, and because Sister is a small studio, I can turn things around quickly and on budget. Feedback is never a drama, it's just part of the process. I work remotely, so it doesn't matter where in New Zealand, or the world, you're based.

Why choose to work with me?

I have a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design, and I'm very comfortable with a pencil or paintbrush. I work in many styles, digital or traditional, and I love storytelling through illustration. Illustration rarely lives on its own. It sits next to headlines, logos and packaging copy. With 15 years as a designer behind me, I make sure every illustration works hard for where it's going.

FAQs

What is a brand illustration toolkit?

It's a set of illustrations drawn in one consistent style, with the colours and approach to match your brand, so your team can use them across web, social, print and advertising.

Can you illustrate packaging?

Yes. For Juicies I created packaging illustration, custom textures and print-ready artwork designed for their international market.

Do I need to be in Auckland to work with you?

No. I work remotely with clients across New Zealand and can work with you wherever you are, sharing work online at each stage.
